Mom to four teenagers in a blended household, Kelly writes for and trains adults on various aspects of parenting and child care. Kelly stayed home when her children were young and began working part-time after her children started school.

As a freelancer, Kelly enjoys working on a variety of projects with a variety of agencies. She schedules her work roles so that she still works part-time hours. One week, Kelly may be teaching a 2-hour parenting class, a 5-hour child care training and working on writing projects at home. The next week, Kelly may be teaching a 2-hour parenting class, working as a Writer Artist in Residence in a school for 2 hours and working on writing projects at home.
